Configuring MacPPP

"PPP" stands for Point-to-Point Protocol, and it's a standard for allowing computers to access the Internet over dial-up lines (vs. a direct connection, such as many larger businesses and universities now have). Wave Rider offers PPP dial-up accounts to make connecting more affordable and flexible for anyone who can't justify the expense of a dedicated high-speed network connection. The software the Mac uses to connect to a PPP account is usually referred to as a "dialer", since its primary function is to coordinate the modem's connection with our server. Several free dialers are available, at least two of which are variations on a package called MacPPP, which consists of two pieces: a control panel called Config PPP and a system extension called PPP. To set up for using Wave Rider, all you need is to add some information to Config PPP and you should be ready to dial in and surf away.
When you open the Config PPP control panel
